Coming About At the welders

After the model of Coming About was finished and the aluminum was waterjet cut, it was time for the welding.

The fabrication was done at Fox Welding in Marina CA. I have worked with Jon Fox and his team with my other Stabiles and they were really helpful. They did the welding for Blue Rondo, Aeolus and a medium version of Aviator. They have all the tools and skills necessary for this kind of work and then some! On the photos you can see Sean TIG welding T-joint weld “stitches” at intervals along the seams of contact of the parts. We worked together and while he attended to other tasks, I placed the parts into position for the welds.
